Cleansing Diet Definition

Thursday, August 30th, 2007

By Marc Menninger Cleansing is a dietary practice that spans back through the centuries. It is a natural way to clear the body of toxins and built up waste products that was used in ancient medicine. Because of its effectiveness, cleansing is enjoying a reemergence of popularity today. The practice of cleansing, which is also known as detoxification (or detox) is used for a number of purposes. Cleansing may be used to simply give the body a healthy boost or as a precursor to another holistic approach. The most popular use of cleansing in modern society is for dietary cleansing. Cleansing diets are simple and effective. They work quickly to produce significant weight loss results. Basics Of Cleansing Diets There are many, many different kinds of cleansing diets with different recipes and variations of foods and drinks. Some are strictly liquid diet protocols and are often considered fasting diets while others combine beneficial drink recipes and natural juices with healthy foods such as protein shakes, organic fruits and vegetables. A very basic description of a cleansing diet would be this: Cleansing starts with a diet plan (in many cases mostly or all liquid) that is followed for two to ten days (sometimes longer but care must be taken). This plan may include good, healthy, foods with the liquid regimen.Herbs, oils, and/or supplements may be taken to enhance the detoxification and cleansing process.Cleansing is usually undertaken as a series of short cleansing periods (under two weeks) two to three times per year as long term cleanses could be unhealthy. Many programs combine a healthy, low-toxin diet as a lifestyle to maintain clean living between cleanses.Foods and drinks used in the cleansing diet are chosen for their purity; foods that contain chemicals and toxins, and those which turn to stored chemicals and toxins in the body, are eliminated.Foods are also chosen for their restorative properties and for their abilities to draw out and eliminate toxins in the major organs of the body, fats cells, and tissues. How Cleansing Diets Work From its earliest days, the human body constantly accumulates toxins. These toxins come from: The foods and drinks we consumeThe environment (air pollution, chlorinated water, cleaning agents, chemical exposure, smoke…)Health and beauty products applied topically to the skin and absorbed by the skinMedicationsThe body is naturally designed to process out toxins and waste bi-products through the liver, kidney, colon, sweat, etc., but it is unable to process all of the toxins we come in contact with. Residual toxins build up in the body’s organs and fat storage cells. Cleansing diets are designed to “kick out” the left over, built-up toxic residue. This prepares the cleanser for better living and easier cleanses. Maintenance cleanses are periodically necessary, and in most cases it takes more than one good cleanse to clean out a damaged system; this is build-up that took years to accumulate–you should not expect it to be quickly removed. Changes to lifestyle further enhance the effectiveness of cleansing diets. There are a number of benefits to using cleansing diets. While many people look towards cleansing diets strictly for simplified (no need to count calories or read confusing labels, etc.) and fast-acting weight loss purposes, the many advantages of good bodily cleansing are also appreciated. Among these advantages are an improved energy level and better overall health; even the skin is better, often clearing away skin disorders. Bowels become regulated. Concentration and mental acuity improve. The most obvious advantage, however, is that cure that people come to cleansing diets seeking–fast, effective, significant weight loss, the direct result of clearing the body’s taxed systems of pounds of waste products and toxin overload. _____________________________________________________ Marc R. Trust Again?

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007

By Molly Barrow Are you suffering with a deep gut ache wondering if you can trust this person? Does trust require a restriction of inquiry? Have you locked yourself into a damned if you ask and potentially damned if you do not ask quandary? Are you willing to risk damaging your relationship and hurting your partners feelings? Will your inquiry prompt the inevitable response? Now since you do not trust me I might as well do what you have accused me of doing! How can you proceed with out making a mess of your relationship? Runaway feelings and emotions so characteristic of falling in love or the excitement of a start-up company can make you put a person on a pedestal. Do you prefer to view the world and your partner through the rose-colored glasses of trust until proven unworthy? The silent trust deal says you do not ask your partner to prove their trustworthiness and demands that you know without asking. You bestow trust upon him or her without proof. If one invests carelessly too much of their lives into the relationship and is betrayed, the extradition can be difficult and involve a wide circle of friends and family. Initially more pleasant and less work, this attitude is fraught with risk and vulnerability. Most people remove their rosy glasses after their first heartbreak. On the other hand, do you choose a position of mistrust until you acquire proof positive of the ability to trust demonstrated with consistent behavior. This requires a holding back of your feelings. To lead a life of bitter disappointment devoid of the uplifting flight of heart that comes from just believing in someone or something is also risky and unprotected. Opportunities for love may be lost if you are too defended. The fake it until you make it philosophy is a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you behave like your partner is trustworthy, the trust can help to support your partner when tempted to cheat. The act of trusting creates its own momentum in a relationship. Positive creates positive reactions and pessimistic negativity creates negative reactions. The most important element of trust is the lack of suspicion felt in the pit of your stomach. You happily move forward in your day assuming that your relationship is just fine. There is an absence, a silence that one takes for granted until something out of the ordinary causes you to doubt. Once that doubt creeps in a chain reaction starts. Your adrenals flood your body and you can hardly breathe or function. Doubt, suspicion, jealousy eat away at your tranquility leaving you a pile of jangled nerves. Unable to function in your work and the inability to think reasonably or to recover your sense of balance may lead to rash and sometimes violent actions. Whether true betrayal or just imaginary mental scenes have transpired, you must quiet your reactionary rage. Innocent until proven guilty counts in relationships, too. If your partner admits to betraying you, you have several choices. If you are deeply in love and isolated from the support of friends and family, do not abruptly walk out the door. You may need to rely on the shreds of your relationship to help you through the deep grief of losing trust in someone you love. What is the true cost of betrayal? Have you assessed the amount of potential damages to your world if you cannot trust your partner? Illness, divorce, hurt for your children and even death are consequences that might result from betrayal. Once you sort it all out, do you risk your heart and trust again? The assumption that your relationship will never be tested is unrealistic. There is no way to guarantee that trust will never be broken again. If you love the person, give them a second chance if you possibly can. If they make no effort to protect you from hurt or to change their behavior, you may need to question if his or her love is strong enough and worth investing your welfare and future. To rebuild trust as a couple, remember to: Get the facts before reacting, be honest and stay honest. Allow yourself or your partner a desensitization period to rehash the hurt over and over until they heal. Accept or give a sincere apology and make it up to your partner any way you can. Know that it can take a year for your partner to grieve and learn to trust you again. Learn to be more open with each other to deepen your connection. Get Healthy-Eat More Fat-Well, Maybe Just Certain Types Of Fats Anyway

Monday, August 27th, 2007

By Denice Moffat Did you know that your brain is composed of more than 60% fat? If you dont have the proper fats to nourish the nerve cells and myelin of the brain you will have some problems down the road (like Alzheimers disease). There are two different kinds of fatsbad fats, and good fats. Examples of bad fats include meat fats, processed fats, trans-fats, hydrogenated fats and fats processed under high heat. Good fats are unsaturated and in fluid form at room temperature and are what you should be ingesting as your fat calories. Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) Deficiencies are becoming epidemic in our world. Some similarities exist between sluggish thyroid and EFA deficiency, and low thyroid, but there are differences, too: Do YOU suffer from a fat deficiency? EFA deficiency is associated with: Chronic diarrhea, Crohns or IBS Attention deficit disorder (ADD) Irritability or nervousness Dry mouth or dry throat Skin dryness or cracks behind the ears Emphysema, asthma or other chronic lung disease Chronic joint pain or arthritis History of kidney, bladder or prostate problems Infertility, impotence or a history of repeated miscarriages Essential fatty acids (EFA’s) are those fats that the body cannot produce on its own. The body gets these fatty acids directly from the diet. For example: LA (Linoleic acid) is an omega-6 fatty acid found in sunflower, safflower, corn and sesame. These fats are used in a large array of body functions. ALA (Alpha-linolenic acid) is an omega-3 fatty acid found in flax, walnut and green leafy vegetables. These fats are used in a large array of body functions. DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), comes from fish oil, chicken and eggs and is found in the brain. GLA (gamma-linolenic acid) comes from the Evening Primrose or Borage plants and has been used with some success in treating schizophrenia. There are other EFAs but this sounds complicated already. Just know that we need all of these fatty acids, and they need to be in specific ratios to work perfectly. It seems like each body needs a little different ratio, but that is what being an individual is all about. We each are attracted to different diets and different foods. The goal has been to find the ratio that works in general for the normal body and how to tweak this ratio for dis-eased body types as well. The most common unsaturated fats that I see most people needing in my own practice are Udos Choice Oil Blend, Wheat Germ Oil (especially for reproductive challenges), Olive Oil, Sunflower Oil (especially in the winter months for mild depression), and the lighter oils like Sesame, Apricot, Avocado and Emu oil for use as an after shower body lotion. My question, of course, is Whos normal? I dont know anyone that is the same as anyone else. Even identical twins have differences. There have also been a lot of studies done on EFAs over the last several years in the veterinary field as the food companies keep trying to develop diets that are optimally balanced to conquer all the chronic skin disease caused by fleas (those pesky annoying little creatures). From EFAs, our bodies make the brain fats and vital messengers that help regulate a huge abound of body activity necessary for peak function. Fatty acids can be saturated or unsaturated, but EFAs are always unsaturated. EFAs can be damaged by free radicals (like in well-done and char-broiled meats, oxygen damage and electromagnetic field influences,) and be out competed for receptor sites by saturated fats (from eating too much meat) and trans-fatty acids (from whipped vegetable oils such as margarine). Therefore, it is a good deal to include some EFAs with every meal for ultimate health so at least they have a chance to glom onto those receptor sites to make the cells work at maximum capacity for all that they need to do. The Zone Diet developed by Dr. Barry Sears goes into this in depth and his books have a lot of great recipesespecially for those people with diabetes, hypoglycemia, heart disease and obesity. The bottom line? Eat your raw vegetables, nuts and dont forget the eggs. Use butter instead of margarine. Fry only in butter, coconut, ghee or olive oil as these fats are not that easily damaged by high temperatures. Some factors contributing to EFA deficiency include: Fast food, low-fat, or low egg diets Taking aspirin or other anti-inflammatory drugs Taking cortisone, prednisone or other steroids Drinking hard liquor on a regular basis Regularly using margarine and refined sugars Smoking or chewing tobacco. One of my favorite references for learning about fats is: Smart Fats. How dietary fats and oils affect mental, physical and emotional intelligence. By Michael A Schmidt. Becoming A Home Inspector: What the Home Inspection Schools Don’t Want You To Know

Saturday, August 25th, 2007

By Donald Lawson Chances are if youre reading this youve thought about becoming a home inspector. You may have even seen the ads that say you can make hundreds of dollars a day as a home inspector. Home inspection schools put many of these ads out. They paint a rosy picture about the profession and how easy it will be for you to make a ton of money virtually overnight. Im a Professional Real Estate Inspector and Im going to tell you what the home inspection schools dont want you to know about this profession! What the Home Inspector schools arent telling you What these schools and the various companys selling Home Inspection courses wont tell you is how difficult it is to be successful in this business. The National school that I attended for my inspector education made it sound so easy to get started. They explained how easy it would be to start doing 1 home inspection a day with little or no effort. I have many soon-to-be home inspectors email me and call our office asking about the business. This business is like any other. It takes dedication, strong finances and time to become successful. Think youll get started with no money up front? Many schools do not tell you about the liability side of the home inspection industry. The home inspection industry is a very high liability profession. Every home you inspect is a potential lawsuit. It doesnt matter that you may be the most thorough inspector in your area. Inspectors are sued over things that the homeowners thought they should have found whether or not you could see the defect or not. Theres an old saying in this business. Its not IF you get sued, but WHEN you get sued. If you cant live under this pressure, youd be best off looking elsewhere. All it takes is a ladder and pickup truck…right? Well, heres more bad news. Like most legitimate businesses, it takes a little more than that. A new inspector is going to need about $5000 worth of tools just to start. Then there is about the issue of insurance. Errors & Omissions Insurance will cost a new inspector (if you can even get it) anywhere from $3500 to $5000 per year. Then theres General Liability Insurance that will run you from $400 to $1500 per year. In some states, you cant even get started without this insurance. Do you have a rainy day fund? I hope so Brother ’cause it will rain on your parade! Just like any new business, the 1st year will be a rough one. It may take you from anywhere from 6 months to 2 years to get to the point where youre bringing in a steady income. Many inspectors came into this business by doing home inspections on the side or part time. That is the approach I would advise any new inspector to take. Dont quit your day job just yet! What about the Real Estate Agents? The schools make it sound like theres an agent behind every tree just waiting for you. Odds are they have their favorite inspector already and theyre not likely to use a new inspector because they do not know what to expect from you. It will take you many months up to a year or more before youll be getting regular referrals from real estate agents. Dont count on them to feed your family when you first start. This industry can be very rewarding in many ways. However its likely to leave a sour taste in your mouth if you enter thinking that its a pushover to get started. Ive seen way to many good people go broke trying to get started in this business because the home inspection schools left them unprepared for what they were about to face in the real world. How to Structure Your Marriage

Friday, August 24th, 2007

By Joel Orr My wife N’omi is often asked if she doesn’t believe in equality for women, because some of the things she says sound odd to the modern ear. But she always replies: “Why should I give up superiority for mere equality? I have worked at developing my feminine traits and my human abilities. So as a woman, I am superior. But as a man, I’m a failure. Why waste my time trying to be something I’m not? I can compete well with men in terms of some of my human abilities. But just as men can never compete with women in terms of feminine traits, I can never compete with men in terms of masculine traits. And since I used to counsel a group of gay and lesbian people, I can say with authority that if you knew what female impersonators or sex-change people went through mentally, emotionally, and physically, you wouldn’t think it was so easy for men to compete with women at being female. I’ll never be as strong as most men-they generally have 300% the upper-body strength of most women! And I’ll never have the masterful presence of a man, no matter how powerful a presence I present as a woman. During the many years before I met Joel, I functioned as father and mother to five of my children. I was only able to fulfill the father role by telling my children stories of how wonderful their father was, and how much he loved them, and was proud of them. But I couldn’t BE a father to them; only a faithful mom. Physically, beyond the obvious gender differences, men are jointed differently from women, which enables them to excel at certain activities that women find more difficult-though a woman’s special jointing enables her to do things well that a man finds more difficult. Which makes my point: Each gender has gender-specific qualities, as well as human attributes. In fact, if a pathologist finds a single human bone, he can tell whether it was from a male or a female. A geneticist examining a single human cell can tell whether it is male or a female. So I believe in being the best of what I can be. That includes my feminine qualities, and it includes my human qualities. For this reason, I am a very strong woman, emotionally and mentally. I am not in conflict with myself or with the people around me. I am busy being me, and getting happier and more fulfilled with each passing year.” N’omi is really that wonderful woman, powerful and focused on fulfilling her potential-in her own life, and in our life together. So what do N’omi and I have? Are we equal? No, because equal means the same. Men and women are not the same. The only way in which all people are “created equal” is that we all have the same 24 hours a day in which to make decisions about who we have decided to be. Marriage is not 1 + 1 = 2. That would be equality. Marriage is a partnership, to which each partner brings a different assortment of qualities: character traits, aptitudes, attributes, opinions, beliefs, and other accumulated stuff that makes them who they are. In fact, this means that no two humans, regardless of gender, are really “equal” when they meet. But in marriage, you are joining two very different sets of qualities, and adding gender qualities to the equation. This is a volatile mix because marriage is a partnership of unequals, not an equality of two identical parties. We need to discard the idea that “unequal” means one is superior and one inferior. That’s NOT what it means. “Unequal” just means “not the same,” or “different.” And anyone can see that every human is different from every other human. Furthermore, many studies-psychological and physiological-show that men have many traits in common with each other that they don’t share with women. And many similar studies show that women have many traits in common with each other that they don’t share with men. Bottom Line: Marriage is a partnership, but not an equality. As a partnership, it consists of two very different people who bring different qualities to the relationship. These qualities are of two kinds: Personal and gender. personal qualities are individual and not gender-specific. But there are gender-specific qualities that exist and must be recognized for what they are before true partnership can blossom. Remember: Men and women are two races that share the same planet, but not much else! To get along happily, they have to learn about what’s unchangeable-in their own and in their mate’s nature-and what can be modified. Then they will stop blaming, and start working together. That’s partnership! http://AwesomeMarriage.com - Dr. Joel Orr, “The Marriage Fixer,” has been counseling and coaching married couples for over 25 years. Do Best Friends Make the Best College Roommates?

Wednesday, August 22nd, 2007

By Susan Fee Do best friends make the best college roommates? Not always! Its amazing how the quirky things you used to like about your best friend can begin to drive you crazy when youre around it 24/7. Just because youve been friends since grade school doesnt mean you should live together. In fact, rooming together can ruin a friendship if the two of you dont discuss a few things ahead of time. Living together is way different than hanging out a lot. Its a mistake to assume that everything will be fine just because you have a history. Here are some things you and your best friend should talk about before you commit to being roomies. Expect things to change. College is about growing and making new friends. Only hanging out with your best friend can hold both of you back. All it takes is one, You didnt used to be that way, to feel trapped. Are you okay with your best friend spending less time with you and more time with new friends? Talk about how youd deal with this and if you expect to be included or not. Set ground rules. A roommate relationship takes friendship to a whole other level because now it involves sharing space, time, and decision-making. If you dont establish boundaries with your friend like you would with someone you dont know as well, its too easy to cross the line. You can end up feeling taken advantage of because you assumed your friend would make the same decisions as you, even though it was never discussed. How will you handle cleaning, bills, and study time? Is it alright to borrow clothes and other personal items? When is it okay to have guests over? Decide these things ahead of time so they wont become issues later. Make room for dating. You may have promised to hang out together, but a cute date can change all that! Its hard not to feel jealous when youre the one left out in the cold. Does your friend expect you to leave the room whenever he or she wants alone time with a new date? Both of you deserve to have a say in who gets private time in the room and what you think is fair. Prepare for stress. College can be stressful at times between the demands of studying, social pressures, working, and maybe even a little homesickness. It can cause even the best of friends to take it out on each other. Support one another by suggesting healthy ways to let off a little steam like exercising, going to a movie, talking, or even giving the other person a little space. Fight Fair. When issues come up, deal with them right away. Dont expect your friend to know whats bugging you just because youve known each other a long time. No one is a mind reader. Giving the silent treatment or having IM arguments can make a semester seem like a lifetime! Plus, its hard to avoid someone who is living four feet away. Rooming with your best friend can be a positive experience, as long as both of you agree upfront how youll handle these situations. It can be reassuring to room with someone who understands and accepts you, rather than starting from scratch with a person youve never met. On the other hand, rooming with a different person gives you a chance to experience something totally new and possibly make another great friend. And, if your new roomie ever gets on your nerves, you can always go visit your best friend! Writing an Essay Without Reading the Book

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Anthony Chatfield If youve had a book to read that you really didnt want to read, something long and boring that you had absolutely no interest in save the fact that the subsequent report or essay due on Chapter 32 of that book is due in a week and your grade depends on it, there is a way to get around it. And its not cheating (at least not technically). Many of us find that there are more than a couple of undesirable assignments in our academic lifetimes. Whether in High School or a college English course, the one thing to remember is that you almost never have to read something that you dont want to. Lets not overlook the fact that youre skipping an assignment that was designed to grow your intellect and that if youre in college youre paying good money for that growth. But, hey if youre intent on ignoring all of that and are really busy all week and just dont have the time to read the book, then lets move and look at your options. 1. Sparknotes Its the Cliffnotes of the future. Why is it different? Its more or less free. If youre reading anything remotely considered a classic, this is the place to go. Chapter summaries and analyses, character summaries, questions for consideration, and forum posts all make this an ideal place to find out exactly what youre supposed to be reading. It wont get a paper written, unless youre extremely good, but it will give you a basis for just about everything else, and discussion points in class 2. The Movie theres always a movie. The movie is the best place to go in some cases for a few very simple reasons. Instead of 10 hours, you spend 2 and there are pretty pictures. But, and this is very important, always check the movies reputation first. Go to IMDB and search for it and do a quick rundown to find out just how loyal to the source it is. If its an adaptation where the writer of the novel doesnt even receive screenwriting credit, youre probably going to fail. If there is no good adaptation, move on. Dont try and make one seem better than it is. Just move on. 3. Amazon, search in book I found this in my Junior year of College and its amazing. Amazon has made it so you can search within almost any of their books for specific lines and passages. This is the way to find a quote quickly and a page number without issue. Most classes youre in will be using the newer copies of any book and thus Amazon will have you covered. If you find a good quote on Sparknotes that you want to find in your book, do a quick search and voila, there it is. 4. Google Scholar search Google has a fairly decent service up in beta (as most of their work is) that allows you to search millions of scholarly articles and abstracts. This is not for cheating. Never ever take something that doesnt belong to you and use it as your own. If you do, its your own stupidity that got you kicked out of school. If its that easy to find something to steal for your paper, do you honestly think its that hard for your teacher or professor to do the same. But, for researchs sake this is a gold mine. Type almost anything and youll find an article. And its free, unlike Lexus or any of the other scholarly search services (which if your college gives you access to, you should use as well). 5. Misdirection Make your report or essay about something else. Choose a topic from another course in which you actually paid attention. Now, relate it back to your chosen book (the one you didnt read) and start using the above sources to compare the two. Say youre in an art history class, in which youre studying surrealism in the 1940s and that you the book youre reading is by a Beat poet, Kerouac or Ginsberg. Now, take that surrealist abstract you wrote up and some of those basic summaries and ideas you snagged from sparknotes and start tying them all together, with a few good quotes from Amazon. You may have noticed that this seems like way more work than just reading the book and writing an essay. But, once youve done this a few times, more than two or three, youll be a whiz, and the whole thing will come down to about 5 hours on the Sunday before its due. Then again, if youre not a slave to stress like myself, you could probably just read the book. I’m a self avowed unemployed writer, working on semi-constant basis to try and overcome the need to go and work a real job. I’ve written more than 200 articles and reviews and am constantly scouring the internet for any and all excuses and methods to make myself less dependent on corporate pay days. What to Consider When Making a Used Car Donation

Monday, August 20th, 2007

By Keith Londrie Making a used car donation can help many people. If someone died or moved and they dont want their car anymore, donating it is a great way to give back to the community while disposing of the vehicle. Many used car donation services will pick up the used car for free and take it to the charity. Check your local telephone directory for such services and also search the internet. These services are not in many small towns yetm but most large cities can coordinate the deal for you. It is important to check with the IRS before making a used car donation. There are a few forms that will need to be filled out. The web site can also give an estimate as to the cars worth. The number will probably be different from its blue book value, so be sure to check the web site out before giving the car away. In some states, a tax break will only be given if the car is donated to a nationally recognized charity. A complete list is available on the web site. Filling out the forms incorrectly could result in not getting the tax break. Once the paperwork has been filled out, get a receipt from the charity the car was donated to. This is the proof that will be necessary when claiming a charitable donation on a tax return. The IRS web site will provide all the information to donate the car and get a tax break. Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with the forms, procedures and tax breaks. Donating a car can be a real joy to both the former owner and the charity. Giving to a charity is a great way to help people in the community who are down on their luck. Donating items such as cars can greatly contribute to their well-being because the more vehicles a charity has, the faster they can get to people who need help. There are many charities that offer car services to the store or to the doctor. Making a used car donation will not only yield a tax credit, it will make someone elses life a little easier. Knowing that a person has made a difference is a good feeling. You should always help your fellow man. It will come back to you many times over! I myself have experienced it and can not say enough about the way it makes me feel when I help those in need. 5 Tips for a Stress Free Wedding

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

By Yolanda Nash Planning your wedding doesnt have to be stressful or overwhelming and it really shouldnt be as this is the most important day of your life. With so many details and things to take care of its easy to understand just how stressful weddings can be, but only if you allow them to be. Follow these five quick tips to make wedding planning simple, free of stress, and most of all, enjoyable. 1. Plan, plan, and then plan some more You can never be too organized or have too many lists when it comes to planning your wedding. With so many details to remember, its impossible to keep track of everything and keep yourself sane at the same time. The smart bride-to-be will start planning her wedding right after she says Yes! in order to have a stress-free, enjoyable time preparing for the most important day of her life. 2. Set your budget in stone A strict budget is the only way to ensure couples arent spending more than they should on their big day. After all, who wants to start out their lives together under a mountain of debt? Couples should sit down and decide how much they can realistically afford once theyve determined if their families are contributing to the costs. Create a worksheet, the more detailed the better, and list who is paying for what and what the estimated, and then actual costs will be. 3. Bargain shop Once your budget is in place youll soon realize how all of the expenses of a wedding can quickly add up to staggering amounts. However, by doing a little bargain shopping and even some dickering with merchants, you can be sure to get the very best deals possible. Saving money without sacrificing quality is the goal here. Word of mouth is an excellent way of finding reliable vendors such as caterers, photographers and bands or disc jockeys. Ask for references or samples and equally as important, get everything in writing. 4. Delegate It would be impossible for any one person to plan an entire wedding on their own, so finding others that will offer their assistance is imperative for keeping levels of stress at a minimum. Choose those people that will offer reassurance and guidance as well as allow you to remain in constant control of planning the wedding. The idea is to reduce stress and make things easier for you, not create drama or conflict. 5. Pamper yourself There are many new brides whose weddings were ruined or completely forgotten simply because she didnt take care of herself beforehand. Sleep is of the utmost important and should be your first priority the day before your wedding. Lack of sleep, stress, nerves, alcohol, and more than likely, an empty stomach all conspire to spell disaster on your wedding day. Its important to set aside some personal time for yourself during the months of planning the wedding to recoup and relax. Walking, swimming, yoga and even meditation are all great ways to keep stress in check and stay healthy. Exercise is excellent for relieving tension and also to help get in shape for the wedding at the same time! Yolanda is the owner of Yolandas Wedding Favors. Saving Relationships - 3 Saving Relationships Tips To Create Relationships Worth Saving

Friday, August 17th, 2007

By Anne Amore The key to saving relationships and creating relationships worth saving is, always has been, and always will be, Love. But that’s a broad term and frequently misunderstood. So let’s look at just 3 pragmatic applications of Love that you can use for saving relationships today and go on to create blissful relationships from here on out…. 1. Love is a vision You’ve seen enough romantic movies and read enough slushy romance stories to have formed a definite impression of what a romantic love relationship means to you. The heart and soul of it is about sharing your life experiences with someone that you respect, love, and enjoy being with. Remember this as you think about and renew your vision of what you want your relationship to be like. Be sure to add a good dash of reasonableness and tolerance into the mix. No-one can live up to your romantic ideal 100% of the time, try as they might. Talk with your partner about what their ideal vision of your love partnership is. Discuss where you can compromise a little and still meet each others expectations. This is a good first step in saving relationships and creating a way forward to much better times. 2. Love is a verb The one thing you rarely see in a romantic movie is the on-going, year after year efforts that need to be made to keep the chemistry alive and bubbling in a healthy relationship. Love doesn’t just happen. You have to nurture it and feed it. Be sure to adopt the attitude of being totally responsible for keeping love and romance growing between you. Frequently express gratitude and appreciation to your partner for what they do and what they mean to you. Tell them what you are prepared to do to go about making your relationship fantastic. Ask them to work with you. Be prepared to carry the load at first. Eventually they will come round. Saving relationships involves a lot of creative effort. Love is willing to sweat for what it loves. 3. Love is a lifestyle I’m really big on adopting love as a lifestyle. By that I simply mean that your life will become much more joyful and pleasurable if you let Love be your guiding principle. Becoming a loving person is a conscious choice. You’ve had personal experience of meeting all kinds of people, but the ones who stand out as the nicest are those that treat you with warmth, consideration and love. Why not become like that? The world tends to mirror back to you whatever you project into it. Feel the love deep in your heart centre and turn up the dial so that you become like a blazing beacon of light, radiating out this warm love. From such a condition, deep in touch with the infinite love within you and tapped into the intuition that accompanies it, you will be perfectly equipped for saving relationships. And you will forge wonderful love-based relationships and friendships with those around you. There you have it. Saving relationships and creating relationships worth saving comes from having a clear vision of romantic love, working hard to create that loving relationship day to day, and letting love be your watchword for daily life.
