Stretch Marks Treatments

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

By Max Bellamy As already mentioned, most available treatments for stretch marks are essentially of the preventive and controlling kind. The treatments that deal with repairing already existing damage are quite radical and, for the greatest part, not of established medical validity. Pulsed laser dye therapy, currently in vogue as a possible cure, has been used in the treatment of warts, port wine stains and acne. The results vary and are the object of much disagreement in medical circles, but the professional consensus seems to be that this form of treatment is of no or very limited benefit in tackling stretch marks. A group of chemical compounds called retinoids specifically, retinaldehyde, tretinoin or isotretinoin - has reportedly yielded favorable results in some cases. Retinoids are basically derived from vitamin A. Under proper medical supervision, their use in the treating of stretch marks can certainly do no harm. However, the research conducted on retinoids has been largely in conjunction with acne, skin aging and blemishes like whiteheads and blackheads. Chemical peels should not be considered an option. This is a radical form of treatment that involves burning off the topmost layer of skin with chemicals such as glycolic acid, salicylic acid and trichloracetic acid (TCA). We now know that stretch marks stem from damage to deeper levels of the skin, so sloughing off superficial layers is patently useless and potentially very harmful. The safest bet at the present time is prevention by nutritional adjustment, intensive moisturizing and massage, vitamin A, E and C supplementation and a regular exercise routine. Apart from these, only concealing or camouflaging agents can offer a degree of comfort to those afflicted by stretch marks. Various products are on the market. Finding the most suitable one is a matter of personal research. Stretch Marks provides detailed information about stretch marks, home remedies for stretch marks, laser stretch marks removal and more. Stretch Marks is affiliated with Progesterone Creams. The Rise of Techno Toy and Gifts

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

By Steven Mallon As Christmas looms once more on the horizon the retailers stock their shelves in the hope of a bumper season. Parents try their level best to appease the kids at great expense but the era of the train set and dolls house is over and the pressure and financial strain on parents increases. The increasing trend towards technology based toys means increasingly sophisticated products at increasingly sophisticated prices. The years most wanted toys reflect this trend with increasing emphasis on i-Pods and Sony PSP and a movement away from the traditional toys and gifts is more acute this year than any other. A case in point is this years most sought after gift - the Robosapien V2 as it pervades the stores and online retail pages Billed as a walking, talking humanoid, the Robosapien V2 threatens not only the place of traditional Christmas toys, but the traditional household pet as well. The Robosapien V2 is just the latest in a long line of recent products which mark a sea change in the type of gifts and toys that we shop for. The market for techno toys is booming perhaps a result of a two tier market where toys and gifts are marketed to big boys as well as kids. The techno based lifestyle where we are surrounded by plasma screen TVs, the latest audio equipment and games consoles is upon us and could be at the heart of this paradigm shift. This is, of course, felt more acutely online than anywhere where retail sites providing secondary products around this market are evident. One such example is Stand and Deliver (www.standanddeliver.com) a site dedicated to contemporary furniture to house the techno products that we surround ourselves with. All of which requires considerable financial outlay something which will be felt in the forthcoming months that at any point previously. Choosing Your Birthday Party Format

Monday, October 29th, 2007

By Eric Hartwell How do you decide what to do for your child’s birthday party? When do you have the first one, where do you hold it and what happens as they grow up? We had parties for both our boys starting with their first. It’s great fun but it’s really all about the parents and grandparents at this age, but it leaves good memories with photos that the child enjoys as they grow. The early parties as usually best held in your home when you are only inviting small groups of toddlers. They are safe and easier to entertain with little games including prizes such as sweets. At this stage the birthday tea is not really a priority as they will eat very little as they are excited and just want to play. A few little sandwiches and cakes will do and, of course, a birthday cake! As they get older and want to invite more friends you may decide to hire a hall and either orgainise games or pay for an entertainer. Tea is slightly more important as the children will eat more. Party bags are often given out at the end of these parties and are expected by those who attend lots of similar events. As the children get older they usually want to do an activity rather than have a party. They like to go bowling, ice skating, swimming or go to the cinema and then have a meal to follow. These gatherings are much less of a problem for the parents but don’t actually feel like a party, which for mom and dad can feel a little sad as it’s a sign their child is growing up. Teenagers will want to do their own thing with friends, still funded by mom and dad of course. Then before you know it you are back to orgainising a party again, this time for their coming of age, either at eighteen or twenty one. And so it goes full circle. Table Manner Tips for Guys When on a Dinner Date

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

By Don Diebel Good table manners are very important when dating single women. If you want to make a good impression on your date, practice proper dining etiquette. Just the opposite, if you really want to turn your date off, practice bad table manners. Listed here are some very important tips on proper table manners: If your date has some leftover food that you would like to eat, don’t reach over with your fork and start eating off her plate. The proper thing to do is to ask your waiter or waitress for an extra plate. Don’t let your waiter or waitress remove your plate until your date is finished eating. Got something hung between your teeth? Whatever you do, don’t cover your mouth with one hand and use the other hand to try and dislodge whatever is stuck in your teeth. It’s best to dismiss yourself from the table and go to the restroom and take care of your problem. If your date is still eating and you’ve finished eating, don’t push your plate out of the way. Wait until your date is finished eating before you push your plate back. While you are talking to her, don’t wave your eating utensils in the air. You are there to eat, not to conduct an orchestra! When your mouth is full, don’t talk. Nothing is more gross than watching someone talk with their mouth full of food. If you discover that your silverware is dirty, don’t use your napkin to try and clean it. Just ask your waiter or waitress for a replacement. What do you do if you notice that your date has some food stuck between her teeth? Just tell her quietly. This is the proper thing to do. It’s very important that you eat quietly. Don’t make any unnecessary and embarrassing noises. This article written by Don Diebel (Americas #1 Singles Expert). Top 5 Mistakes To Avoid When Getting Used Car Auto Loans

Saturday, October 27th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Jim_Johnson]Jim Johnson Doing your homework before buying a used car can save you an incredible amount of money, especially since cars are one of the most expensive consumer items anyway. But many are not as well prepared as they should be when they get used car auto loans. For some reason, buyers seem to often let their guard down when it comes time to finance the car that they want, and here is where you can lose more money than almost anywhere else in the deal. So here are the top 5 mistakes that you want to avoid when getting used car auto loans: Mistake #1. Not knowing what your credit score is - Before you even begin shopping for your car, get a copy of your credit report and go over it very carefully. Your credit score will determine to a very large degree how much interest you will have to pay on your car loan. Unfortunately, it’s common to find errors in your credit report that do not work in your favor, so keep up to date on your credit report and get all errors removed immediately to get your best finance deals. Mistake #2. Not getting auto financing in advance - Once you have your credit score and know what kind of interest rate you can qualify for, shop around and line up used car auto loan financing before you visit the dealer or go shopping at all. You may want to visit your local bank that you do business with, or even your credit union as they tend to offer very good loan rates to their members. But don’t forget using the internet to get auto loan approval too. Many of the loan sites on the web are able to give you credit authorization within the same day so it’s quick and easy, and often saves money since you are dealing directly with the lender. Once you have advance financing in place you are now in position to bargain with the dealer on financing instead of just blindly accepting what they offer. Mistake #3. Allowing the dealer to obscure details of the car deal - Car dealers often want to mix up the numbers from all segments of the deal so it becomes confusing and hard to pin down exactly what kind of deal you are getting. Do not let them separate out the three distinct parts of most car deals, (1) the actual cost of the car being bought, (2) the actual amount being allowed for trade-in, and (3) the details of the finance contract if you decide to finance the car through them. Don’t let them get you focused on your monthly payment early in the buying process. Keep financing totally separate until the end and watch everything carefully. Mistake #4. Not going over the finance contract carefully before signing - If you decide to finance through the dealer it’s usually the last step in the process and it’s easy to be tired by this point and just want to get things over. But actually you need to be even more vigilant and review the loan contract thoroughly to be sure that you are getting the finance arrangements that you have bargained for and that no additional items were inserted into the deal that you did not already approve. Mistake #5. Going ahead with a financing deal even when you feel uncomfortable - If you ever start to feel uncomfortable with any part of the sales or financing part of buying your car, just walk away right then. Don’t let yourself be pressured into doing anything that you don’t feel totally comfortable with. Many consumers have been hounded into buying a car that they later regretted because of not heeding this advice. When getting used car loans, if you avoid the mistakes listed above you will be able to go a long way toward making sure that you get the right loan at the right price. Your Marketing Starts With Writing

Friday, October 26th, 2007

By Kevin P. Dervin Marketing starts with writing. Think about it. Everything you do from a small business marketing stand point starts with writing. That doesn’t mean that you need to be a Pulitzer Prize winning writer to get great marketing results. You just need to start writing. It’s an important key to every part of your small business marketing success. You write your marketing materials, web site copy, articles, special reports, tip sheets, talks and presentations, sales letters, ezines or newsletters, post card mailers, proposals, etc. They all start with writing - well, at least they should. Some small business owners get seduced into starting a new marketing piece with pictures or stunning graphics. But you really need to focus on the message and content first. And that starts with writing. I even recommend that my clients write out their 30-second attention getting introduction and their 10-second WOW statement. When you write out a couple of versions of your 30-second attention getting introduction you can read it out loud several times and tweak it until you know you just know what you want to say. When you write you will gain clarity about your business and your services that you won’t have previously experienced. By taking the time to write about what you do for clients and what they get from your service you’re able to begin conveying messages more persuasively. Don’t think for a second that you can’t do it if you haven’t previously done a lot of writing. The key is to just start. Remember we’re not going for award winning writing here. Keep your small business marketing messages simple and direct. Stay focused on what you’re trying to do for clients and prospects - their problems, issues and challenges and the results or outcomes they’re interested in. Start with an outline. Write something today and set it aside for a day or two before you come back to it. You’ll continue to gain clarity and eventually your writing will get better. Marketing starts with writing. So start writing… About the Author: Kevin Dervin is the owner of KPD Marketing and creator of the ABCD Growth System. B2B Marketing: Selling To The Hospitality And Travel Industry

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

By Alexander Gordon In 2005, hotels in America generated $100 billion in profits, mostly from the food services sector. Luxury hotels also did brisk business, and smaller hotels too brought in additional revenues through value added services. Since the hospitality industry is booming, it is a good time for vendors to cash in on this boom and market themselves to the industry representatives. Hotel Planners: If you are planning to display your products and services to the hospitality industry, you need to approach hotel planners. There are over 70,000 hotel planners in the US, and their ideas and initiatives have generated $44 billion in revenue for the hotel industry. In order to market your services to the hospitality industry, you need to meet the planners and executives of hotels. How to Market to Hospitality Industry: In order to sell your services to the hospitality industry, you need to reach the planners and hotel managers. However, it is not easy to reach them, as they place a great value on their time, and have probably been approached by dozens of vendors before you. 1) Identify industry sectors where your products are going to be most useful. If the planners think that your products are of use, they will definitely want to know more. 2) Plan your marketing strategy before you approach people in the hospitality business. 3) Internet, emails, direct mailing, print media are all good mediums of getting your message across to people in the hospitality business. 4) Become a member of any association of vendors or related sector in the hospitality industry. This will lead to higher exposure of your services to people in the hospitality industry. 5) Provide hotel planners with information regarding your products, and cut down on the sales talk. Planners are hard pressed for time; and they will not be too happy if they take time out to listen to you, only to discover that you have nothing much to tell them. 6) Use innovative marketing strategies to get the attention of planners. Schedule calendars, calculators, software for charts etc. are always in demand within the hospitality industry, so you can demonstrate the use of such innovative tools to hotel executives and planners. Hospitality Industry: Sectors of Growth. High growth areas of the hospitality industry include food and beverages, and full service hotels. Food and Beverage departments of major hotels have been given more autonomy, so you can approach the department manager directly for marketing purposes. Vendors and suppliers of food items, drinks, kitchen devices, cutlery, table linen and furniture can benefit a lot from this. With so many opportunities for vendors to take advantage of, it is no wonder that they want to cater to the hospitality industry. With proper planning and the right marketing strategies, you should be able to get ahead of your competitors and bag lucrative deals from hotels. The 7 Tough Job Interview Questions That Can Make or Break You - and How to Answer Them

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

By Donna Monday Some interview questions are asked so frequently that they’ve become classics. Practically every interview you go on you’ll be answering one or more of these seven interview questions. Why are these the most frequently asked interview questions? Probably because they give the employer a good idea of who you are and if you’re the best fit for their company. ** Tell Me About Yourself This is an obvious open-ended questions where the interviewer is inviting you to give some background on yourself. But wait. Should you start revealing personal information about yourself? No. This isn’t a beauty contest or game show. How to Answer: This is not a question you should try to wing off the top of your head. You need to write down a careful answer to this question and practice saying it out loud again and again. ** Prepare a Script List five strengths that are directly related to this job and incorporate them into a “Tell Me About Yourself” mini script. You want to keep the focus on your past job experience and what you personally bring to your position(s): Example: “I have been in the ________ industry/business for the past ______ years.” “My most recent experience has been ______.” “One reason I enjoy this business is _____.” “In my last job I ________.” “My real strength is my ________.” “What I’m looking for now is _______.” About The Author Copyright 2004 Donna Monday Get Hired Now! New Garden Phlox

Sunday, October 21st, 2007

By Doug Green One of the backbone plants in the perennial garden is the mid to late summer tall Phlox paniculata or tall garden Phlox. One of the newest varieties to get to your local garden centre is Goldmine. Aptly named because it will bring a rush of visitors to your garden with its bright magenta purple flowers held firmly above green and gold variegated leaves. Two older variegated forms, Harlequin with its magenta blooms and cream yellow variegated leaves should be easily available while Becky Towe with rose pink flowers over yellow and green leaves is equally desirable. The older variegated Norah Leigh with its green and cream splashed leaves is an excellent foliage plant but those pale pink blooms wash out against the dramatic foliage. If you are looking for a shorter phlox, you might want to search out Little Laura. The stunning rich violet purple blooms with white eyes are wonderful accents to any brighter colour in your perennial garden. At twenty-four inches tall, this plant will also serve as the focal centerpiece in any large perennial container. Keeping with our female names and short plants, let me suggest Juliet for your new plant list. Again, shes twenty-four inches tall with compact growth but with the softest pink flowers you can imagine. With some mildew resistance built into the breeding, this is an excellent mid-summer bloomer for both garden and large container. And speaking of mildew resistant phlox, let me suggest you look for these three mildew-resistant stunning ladies of the midnight garden: Miss Pepper is a soft-pink with rose eye growing to three feet tall while Miss Elie is taller at forty inches and sports soft pink blossoms with a deep rose eye. Rounding out the misses is Miss Kelly and her soft lilac blooms are edged in dainty white. Install these plants in the full sun in well-drained soils. They will take some late afternoon shade but youll get better disease control if they receive full early morning sun in a well-ventilated location to dry the leaves off early in the morning. Feed early in the fall with a shovel of compost. Financial Services

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Kristy Annely Apart from providing a wealth of information, the Internet has also become an avenue for companies to provide products and services for their clients. Given the demands of modern life and the strain it puts on your schedule, services provided on the Internet greatly reduce the time and effort you have to put into transactions. One such example of such a service that is available on the Internet is that of online banking, where banks can offer their financial services not only to existing but also to potential clients who have access to the Internet. Through online banking, you are provided with a secure and convenient way to use online services that will make it possible for you to check your account activity and balances, view images of paid checks that you have issued, transfer funds, receive balance alerts, and even pay your bills. Apart from the usual banking services, some companies also provide other services such as providing retirement plans and an online brokerage, where you can actively trade and get information on the stock market. Enrolling in these services for existing clients is very convenient as it can be done online, where you are usually just asked to provide your access codes and accept online disclosures. You are also provided with hotline numbers that are available twenty-four hours a day and seven days a week that you can call with regard to any concerns that you may have with your account. In addition to this, transactions such as ATM withdrawals, money transfers, and credit card transactions are immediately posted on the system, which can provide you with the most up-to-date information on your account. If youre worried about security, the companies that provide these financial services promise that doing transactions online is very secure. This is because apart from having your own personal access codes (usually a user ID and password) that will limit access to your account, the transmission of the transactions uses a browser with a high level of encryption and data coding. It would also be helpful if you do some research on online banking security so you will be up to date on the most modern technology with regard to securing your accounts. The Internet has indeed provided its users with a source of information and a variety of services that help make life more efficient; online banking, which provides a convenient and secure way of availing of financial services, is a testament to this.
